Mass Effect Release Date Slipped?

Xbox.com Australia made a slip up yesterday, they listed a release date for Mass Effect, Bioware's premiere next gen 360 exclusive. Previously listed as 2007, the site shifted to 18 May 2007. Joystiq who reported on the slip contacted Microsoft and received the following reply.

"An incorrect release date for Mass Effect was inadvertently posted on Xbox.com
Australia and has since been removed. We will keep you posted on the ongoing
development of Mass Effect, however, we have no announcements regarding the
game's release date at this time."

Of course now speculation will be at an all time high as to whether or not someone at Microsoft had the info and published it incorrectly or they made a geniune mistake.
